Maths Methods

Lecture Date: Friday 25th of September

Time: 11:00am - 3:00pm

Zoom codes will be sent out to your school emails.

Mathematical methods covers functions, algebra, calculus and probability, and their applications in practical and theoretical contexts. Our tutors have developed comprehensive crash courses of each module, with specific focus on applying the content to a vast range of questions.

The Maths Methods seminar has been prepared by 6 of our fantastic tutors and will provide a comprehensive crash course in the whole Maths Methods curriculum, focussing on how to answer questions and sharing any key exam tricks and tips they learned in year 12!

Key outcomes for the seminar are:

  • Transformations of the plane and behaviour of elementary functions of variables
  • Algebra of functions, including finding solutions of equations, but also inverse functions and systems of equations
  • A comprehensive understanding of calculus, including differentiation and integration of functions
  • Probability of binomial and normal distributions
